Ginette Callaway

USA (United States)

Kunstart: Malerei
Technik: Ölmalerei
Stil: Impressionismus

Statement:
Ginette's work and style of painting is an evolution from impressionism, post-impressionism infused with a pinch of expressionism, to what she calls now her style "Nouveau Impression Art". Her palette is a spectrum of perfectly balanced complementary colors gracefully merging to create art that jumps off the canvas, colors that delight and scenes that evoke emotions, memories and stir the heart. Over the years she evolved and gained confidence in her technique that is uniquely hers. She mixes her own colors, creating amazing effects, rarely seen in an artist that is self taught. Ginette is raw talent, sincere and unabashed! Roots of trees come alive, skies become illuminated, water reflection are a world on their own, ripples of layered bright hues are a trademark in her paintings. The thick, rich, and multidimensional brushstrokes add to the dynamic vigor and spirit of every piece. No matter if she paints in oil or watercolors, no matter if she paints a flower or a face, she imbues a life-force and magic in to the art.

Her art is complex and unique, impossible to replicate. Her intuitive motions with brush or knife come from a place ruled by her own imagination and fearless approach to painting.Skies are illuminated, floral tableau filled with textures, each exuberant stroke carries its own weight, meaning, significance, and power. Her blues, violets, rich reds, and sunshine yellow hues pop with magnificent glow.

"Nouveau Impression Art" is Ginette's Art. "Nouveau for New" and "Impression" for what her paintings do to the unlocker, leave a strong and visually intoxicating Impression.

Vita / Lebenslauf:
I was born in France, lived in France and Germany and now in the United States. My childhood was torture at times, my teenage years were rebellion, in my 20' I wanted red roses to rain on me every day, but what I got was frogs. OK there were good times, I got to travel a bit and I really enjoyed seeing parts of Europe. Especially now that I live in the US, I may never have the opportunity to go back.

In my 30' I was getting used to a new country (America) and I started to look for myself. In my 40' I found myself, or at least parts of me, I am still putting myself together. There are pieces missing that I hope I will find in my 60', 70' and later. I am planning to be at least 120 years old. Sorry collectors you will have to wait that long before cashing in big on reselling my paintings. (Tongue 'n Cheek, of course :-) I know none of you dear people will ever want to part with my art.

I paint places that tucked on my heart strings, places of solitude and places of excitement and history. Painting is the glue that holds me together.
I digest things and life through painting. What you see is what you get. I'm not trying to change the world with my art, there are artist that are much greater and better than I and do that masterfully. I like to think that a piece of art, a painting, that someone choses to buy and look at in their homes, brings some positive energy into their lives. I don't have children, my paintings are what I leave behind and maybe some people will hold on to them and give them to the next generation. My thoughts and feelings on canvas may live on in a tiny canvas or grand masterpiece.

Yes I do care, I do want to be remembered by someone.
